Which program ?

The WILD was developed for a race program in sizes 7.2, 6.2, 5.2 and race/freestyle for 4.2. It's a sports wing. It is suitable for already capable riders who know how to make their wing and foil work well and are looking for response and power in navigation.

The AFS WILD wings with AFS FIRE boards and AFS Performer/Pure Carbon Foils took 1st place (and many more) at Weymouth Speed Weeks 5oth Anniversary Event, also setting a new (unofficial) 500m World Record at the same time, so you can be assured that real performance is inbuilt in these wings!

Attention, it does not replace the WILF - The WILD wing program offers experienced riders high level performance and speeds, so make sure that you and your foil(s) are up to releasing your WILD side, if this is your choice.

WILF or WILD?
The two wings are complementary. The WILD is sportier, designed for already capable riders looking for a powerful and fast wing.

The WILF is a more versatile 'all-terrain' wing - very efficient and accessible with a compact and stable profile to suite everyone from beginner to pro!

WILD Wings (choice of 4.2m, 5.2m or 6.2 and 7.2m) come with a nice quality carry bag, straight wrist leash and emergency repair pack. The Inflation Valve fits the standard 20mm 'Mother' Bayonet connection which is common on many good quality pumps, so there are a large range of pumps which will fit, as well as our own AFS Ryde pump, which is an optional extra.

Recommended Inflation Pressure is 8PSI, but should not be exceeded
Warranty

All AFS products come with a 2 year warranty, subject to our fair usage policy.

Tech Specs/Care Advice:

How many handles does it have?

The 4.2, 5.2 and 6.2 WILDs have two handles. The 7.2 has 3 Handles. They are flexible for the 4.2 to provide more comfort in freestyle. They are semi-rigid on the 5.2, 6.2 and 7.2.
Construction

Two types of seams exist in the world of the wings: cross-cut (the panels are sewn horizontally) or tri-radial (start from a point and sew triangular panels). The WILD uses spider web technology which is a cross cut seam with tri-radial Kevlar reinforcement in order to have a better distribution of forces, a better fluid flow and therefore results in a high performance wing.

What's included?

The wing is sold with a nice quality easy load transport bag and its quick repair kit.

The Wild does not include Wing Leash or Pump as standard.

We have these as accessories and many people will already have a favourite leash and pump by the time they are looking for a Wing with the performance of the WILD.

The majority of Pumps on the market which have the standard 20mm mother fitting and a good pressure gauge will be perfect for inflation.

Most people who already have a Wing, Kite or inflatable SUP with a pump from mainstream companies will find it works perfectly, sometimes with the addition of an adaptor.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please note that all WILD's have printed by the inflation valve 'Maximum Inflation Pressure 8psi'

Kai Sports and AFS recommend you inflate your WILD to 8psi for best performance, but please pay attention to temperature/radiant energy changes upwards, which (as with all inflated products) could risk the pressure rising to a dangerous level, so if this happens, especially while your wing is on shore, re check you pressure to ensure you do not exceed 8psi.

Conversely a drop in temperature/radiant energy or frequent immersion in water much colder than the air temperature, could easily mean the wing pressure could drop significantly, meaning the wing will underperform and feel 'soggy', so in this event, check the pressure and pump it back up to 8psi if required.

The key thing is, be aware of these things!

Also, never leave you wing unsecured, or resting on sharp or abrasive surfaces, or just sat there baking in the sun! Never fly a wing with damage to Leading Edge/Strut or Canopy, without carrying out even a good temporary repair - small holes are easy to fix, but they can quickly become big ones if you don't!

Happy Flying from the Kai Sports & AFS team
