\nBRAND NEW, SPECIAL OFFER ON THE LAST OF THE SCOW MK2's
\n
\nMore comfortable than you can imagine a real race board can be, the Scow design has set a whole range of new standards for performance and accessibility for both recreation rider and racer.
\n
\nFirst appearing in 2012, the well proven Scow has now generated many imitators who have sought to disguise their similarities to our original concept very well.
\n
\nTime to move it up a gear - We have perfected a new shape and construction solution in our search for more performance, and if possible, an even easier ride!
\n
\nInspired by \"Scow\" yachts and their more rectangular shape, the Nah Skwell Scow Race boards erase the inherent drawbacks of a \"traditional\" pointed bow to deliver exceptional performance and rider comfort, especially in situations where the course is primarily across, or especially down wind.
\n
\nWith the Mk2 series, we have really stepped up the \"into wind\" performance as this is becoming more important in Local/Club/National and River/Inland events, as well as for the increasing number of riders looking for an outstanding recreational fitness/cruiser!
\n
\nWe have been very careful not to lose the easy change of direction and stability which made the original Scow stand out, while also adding to the remarkable acceleration, especially with even small low energy waves behind you!
\n
\nProven over many years, the Scow design really works - Simply, we have made a pair of boards with cutting edge race winning performance, but with a load of fun and accessibility thrown in!
\n
\nThey sit low in the water, are very happy to be paddled on the rail, pick up waves with ease and give you the stability to allow you to move around like you would on your Fit, Kool or Longboard Wave SUP, so rather than having a board which you have to muscle around to change direction, the Scow feels much more intuitive and 'connected' to the water!
\n
\nThe Scow Shape is more stable!
\n
\nWhen a board is \"pinched\" at both ends, then any sea way makes it loose stability. With a wider outline fore and aft, the Scow offers much more comfort than any 'chisel nose' racing board to date, while the \"row\" effect is tamed down and the board is much less susceptible to side-winds and swells.
\n
\nThe Scow is very happy to be paddled Slightly Heeled, just like a nice all-rounder or Longboard, whereas, a pointed-bow board requires to be paddled very flat to maintain best performance and stability , which is proving quite difficult as the miles go by and/or, the water becomes choppy - the Nah Skwell Scow happily settles on its full length paddle-side rail, with a slight heel - much less tiring for the rider and significantly enhancing performance in the process, and it's so easy to change direction with a combination of rail steer and sweep stroke, as the bow does not lock in like a pointed-bow!
\n
\nA real downwind delight - The Scow is more stable, and accelerates on the smallest bumps! No more burying the bow down into the back of a wave, with the inherent yaw to either side loss of control and fall! The Scow's nose remains above water in virtually all conditions, and really helps in lengthening the 'surf ride' on every wave.
\n
\nThe Nah Skwell Scow simply Surfs Faster and Surfs Longer than its length would suggest, as the scoop-line is straighter, just as if the board was longer. This gives a better glide in every configuration where there is a little wind or wave energy to be extracted in your favour!
\n
\nThe deck is flat and slightly lowered in the midsection to allow the rider to move easily and quickly to the correct position without hindrance, and is fitted with our straight grooved EVA Race 2 pad system to keep best circulation in your feet over distance! In addition, the remainder of the central deck area has high grip non slip applied and is supplied with 3 x Lightweight Loop Carry/grab Handles, just like our Beach Comp Race Boards.
\n
\nThe Scow Mk2's come with a 23cm high efficiency US box Fin which is extremely light, to compliment the rest of the construction and fittings - this design is both fast and also very resistant to catching weed, so further enhancing distance performance.
\n
\nThe combination of all these features combined with our very light and stiff 'CPFC' full Carbon Sandwich construction makes these boards an outstanding choice for the recreational rider of even modest ability, looking to cover many miles quickly and comfortably, just as much as the racer looking for the ultimate in downwind and even flatter water performance from a 12'6\" or 14' board!
