We are proud to add further to our AFS Wing range and present to you our new gem: the AFS DIAMOND.

After the success of our delightful all-round AFS WILF wing released in late 2020 and the further arrival of the high performance AFS WILD, just in time to take the records at the Weymouth Speed Week 50th Anniversary event, the AFS DIAMOND now joins the AFS wing range, setting new standards along with the WILD at Weymouth 2023!

Extensively tested and developed for over a year by our AFS Pro rider and test team, taking onboard all rider feedback, the DIAMOND is the result of successful experience, great design, the best materials and importantly, listening to all your needs and requests for a great all-round wing with much of the very light weight and balanced feel you all so love in the WILF, but with an even more dynamic, precision feel, especially as you push your riding into more challenging conditions and locations.

What program?

We have retained and developed the best attributes of our wings: performance, lightness, stability, compactness. Our designers have added a touch of sparkle to the DIAMOND with premium materials, along with a panel assembly technique that provides improved load distribution and longevity. With its versatile and high-performance program, The DIAMOND is designed to delight wingfoil enthusiasts, giving unparalleled performance and ease of use in all conditions.

How many handles does it have?

The range from 2.8, 3.4, 4, 5 and 6m all have two handles.

Construction:

Strategic and effective Kevlar reinforcements are well placed, particularly on the leading edge and wing extremities to ensure carefree resilience and durability.
Fabrics used:

" Canopy: Triple Ripstop Techfiber 55g/m2 STW18. An advanced, highly durable canopy material to maintain its rigidity in the most dynamic of use and testing of weather.

" Tubes / struts: Dacron, Dimension Polyant (high-end brand) 175LL. Resistant to elongation, increases stiffness and durability of the wing. Both the inside of the leading edge and the rear handle of the central strut are also doubled in Dacron again increase overall wing stiffness and performance.

" Seam protection Band inside the canopy (at the level of the leading edge) further increasing wing longevity.

" Insignia strip at the leading edge of the canopy further improves the overall support of the wing profile helping give consistent power.

" Hard PVC on the canopy rear to protect the wing when inflating, or at rest. Hard PVC also at the bottom of the central strut protecting against where it may scuff when ashore.

The wing is sold with its transport bag, leash, repair kit, and harness line.

WILF VS DIAMOND?

Are you hesitating between the two?

The WILF is an easy wing with great balance and feel. It is ideal for starting and progressing in the practice, meeting all the needs of many riders.

The DIAMOND is more dynamic and precise, due its stiffer, more stable frame and canopy construction, which delivers extra performance from good rider input, while retaining much of the lovely light, friendly feel of the WILF.

This allows the DIAMOND to be used over an even wider range of conditions/disciplines, meeting the needs of the rider who has moved past the formative stage in their wing foiling and now wish to push their skills and performance levels much more, without embracing the full performance and feel of the AFS WILD.

The AFS DIAMOND is designed to sit perfectly between the AFS WILF and AFS WILD, as a complimentary design to these already great wings, offering a very wide range of performance and usability to the vast majority of riders.

Tech Specs/Care Advice:

The PACK

The wing is sold with a quality Transport Bag which unzips fully round one side for easy stowage, and comes with Wrist Leash, Harness Line and Quick Repair Kit.

A Pump is extra if you need one, but the many of Pumps on the market which have the standard 20mm mother fitting and a good pressure gauge, will be perfect for inflation.

The majority of people who already have a Kite or inflatable SUP with a pump from mainstream companies will work perfectly, or might need a simple adaptor kit.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Kai Sports and AFS recommend you inflate your DIAMON Wing to 8psi for best performance, but please pay attention to temperature/radiant energy changes upwards, which (as with all inflated products) could risk the pressure rising to a dangerous level, so if this happens, especially while your wing is on shore, re check you pressure to ensure you do not exceed 8psi.

Conversely a drop in temperature/radiant energy or frequent immersion in water much colder than the air temperature, could easily mean the wing pressure could drop significantly, meaning the wing will underperform and feel 'soggy', so in this event, check the pressure and pump it back up to 8psi if required.

The key thing is, be aware of these things!

Also, never leave you wing unsecured, or resting on sharp or abrasive surfaces, or just sat there baking in the sun! Never fly a wing with damage to Leading Edge/Strut or Canopy, without carrying out even a good temporary repair - small holes are easy to fix, but they can quickly become big ones if you don't!
